Bio

Drafted as the second overall pick in 2010, Jameson Taillon has cemented his status as an ace pitcher and top-of-the-rotation starter for the Chicago Cubs. Known for the incredible depth of his pitch repertoire, it is his two seam fastball that has generated league wide recognition. Taillon was diagnosed with testicular cancer in May 2017, underwent immediate surgery and made his first rehab start just three weeks later. An ardent coffee lover, Taillon teamed up with Commonplace Coffee when he was with the Pittsburgh Pirates to create a unique blend where a percentage of proceeds from its sales would go directly to Lending Hearts, a foundation dedicated to providing emotional and social support to children and young adults fighting cancer. Even with an aggressive travel schedule, Taillon makes time to stop at local coffee shops and shares his journey with fans on his blog. His incredible start to this season has put him in consideration for the 2022 All-Star Game.
