Bio

Since arriving in the Major Leagues in 2010, Jason Heyward has established himself as one of baseball’s rare five-tool players—combining power, speed, fielding, arm strength, and hitting for average. After joining the Chicago Cubs in 2016, Heyward’s impact was immediate, both on and off the field. That same year, he played a key leadership role in helping the Cubs secure their first World Series Championship in over a century, cementing his place in franchise history.
Widely respected for his defensive excellence, Heyward is a five-time Gold Glove Award winner and a three-time Fielding Bible Award recipient. His presence in the outfield has been a cornerstone of every team he’s played for, and his veteran leadership in the clubhouse has earned him admiration throughout the league.

Off the field, Heyward is deeply committed to community empowerment and youth development. He has worked closely with numerous organizations focused on creating opportunities for inner-city student-athletes, using his platform to amplify causes that matter to him. In 2023, he acted further on that commitment by opening the Jason Heyward Baseball Academy in Chicago—a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide year-round access to training, education, and mentorship for young athletes in underserved communities. The academy reflects Heyward’s long-standing dedication to equity, inclusion, and creating pathways for the next generation.

Jason Heyward’s legacy is defined not only by his accomplishments between the lines, but by his unwavering commitment to uplifting others and making a lasting impact beyond the game.
