Bio
The #14 pick in the 2023 MLB draft and #24 ranked prospect in all of baseball, Kyle Teel has been on a meteoric rise in less than a year of pro ball. After hitting .407 in his Junior season at Virginia, Teel solidified himself as one of the premier talents in a loaded class and the consensus best catcher in the draft. A complete hitter with legitimate power, he didn’t miss a beat going from college to pro ball hitting .363 in his first half-season with the Red Sox while ascending three minor league levels. It has been the same story of unwavering offensive success in 2024: Teel is hitting .300 with 8 homers through the first half of the season in double-A. Defensively, he’s uniquely athletic for a catcher and shows every sign that he’ll be able to stick at the premium position at every level. Teel’s production, and quick path through the minor leagues are showing no signs of slowing down. It’s only a matter of time before he’s making an impact at Fenway Park.
