
Bio
Brice Turang, the dynamic second baseman for the Milwaukee Brewers, is celebrated for his elite defensive ability. In the 2024 season, he led all Major League fielders with 22 Defensive Runs Saved, making him not only the top defender at his position but the best in the National League across all positions. His outstanding performance earned him a 2024 Gold Glove Award. In addition, he is the first Brewer in history to win the Platinum Glove Award, which recognizes the top defensive player in the league. Additionally, Turang made a strong offensive impact in 2024, batting .254 with 24 doubles and seven home runs. He was also a force on the basepaths, stealing 50 bases, the third-highest total in MLB. With his rare blend of elite defense, speed, and hitting, he has quickly become one of the league’s most exciting young talents.
Selected 21st overall by the Brewers in the 2018 MLB draft, Turang steadily worked his way up through the minor leagues. He played for teams including the Arizona League Brewers, the Helena Brewers, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and the Nashville Sounds, earning Midwest League All-Star honors in 2019 before his promotion to the major league in 2023.
Turang’s journey to the MLB began in Corona, California, where he excelled in high school baseball. He chose forgo college to pursue a professional career, propelled by honors such as the MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year and the USA Baseball Richard W. “Dick” Case Award. As a junior, Turang showcased his batting skills with a .465 average and just one strikeout in 101 at-bats.
Baseball runs deep in the Turang family. His father, Brian, played for the Seattle Mariners, and his mother, Carrie, appeared in the Women’s College World Series twice with Long Beach State. With a family legacy in baseball and a remarkable rise through the ranks, Turang has quickly become one of the league’s most talented and promising players.
