Bio
The baseball world has been buzzing about Nolan Gorman since his time at Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Phoenix, Arizona. The number five nationally ranked player in his class, he hit a home run in the Perfect Game All American Game and was named the MVP of the event. The Cardinals took notice of Nolan’s dominance on the amateur circuit, selecting him 19th overall in the 2018 MLB Draft.
Known as one of the best power bats in his draft class, Nolan wasted no time tearing up the minors and quickly rose up MLB prospect rankings. He was a top-50 prospect at the time of his major league call up in May 2022 where he collected his first MLB hit in his first at bat. In 2023, his first full season in the big leagues, Nolan exceeded expectations. As one of the youngest players on the Cardinals’ big-league roster at 23 years old, he lead the club in home runs and slugging, mashing 27 long balls. Nolan earned MLB Player of the Week honors on May 22 after batting .458 with four home runs and 11 RBIs over six games. Looking towards 2024, Nolan will be an anchor in the middle of the Cardinals’ lineup and has solidified himself as a young face of the team.
Off the field, Nolan is involved in charitable efforts in his home state of Arizona. In November 2023, he held first Nolan Gorman Charity Golf Classic benefitting the Arizona Cancer Foundation.
