Bio
Known for his ever-present smile and competitive consistency, Matt Kuchar has solidified his status as both a fan favorite and one of golf’s top players. A nine-time PGA Tour winner, Kuchar also earned a bronze medal for Team USA in the 2016 Rio Olympics, one of the many times he has represented his country in international play. He has earned over $50 million in career prize money on the PGA Tour, ranking as one of the highest earners. A consistent presence on Sundays, Kuchar has over 50 top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour.
Kuchar is one of only three players to have won The Players Championship, a WGC title and a PGA TOUR playoff event. He also has been featured on four U.S. Ryder Cup teams, and five Presidents Cup teams since 2010. Kuchar’s memorable 2010 campaign was marked by his achievement of more top-10 finishes (11) than any other golfer at the time and his first Ryder Cup selection. He also earned numerous accolades that year, including the Vardon Trophy and Byron Nelson Award for lowest scoring average, as well as the PGA Tour’s Arnold Palmer Award for finishing first on the money list.
Prior to turning pro in 2000, Matt graduated from Georgia Tech, where he was a two-time, first-team All-American golfer. The U.S. Amateur Champion in 1997, he received the 1998 Haskins Award as the nation’s top collegiate golfer and was the low amateur at both the Masters and U.S. Open in 1998. He also contributed to two Palmer Cup teams (1998-1999), the 1998 U.S. Amateur World Team and the 1999 USGA Walker Cup Team.
A native of Winter Park, FL., he currently resides in Jupiter, FL with his wife and two sons.
