Bio
Michelle Wie West is an LPGA icon and one of the most influential figures in golf. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Wie West showed prodigious talent from a young age. She made headlines by being the youngest to ever qualify for a USGA event, and by her early teenage years, she was already playing in professional events on both the PGA TOUR and the LPGA. Her breakthrough came in 2014 when she won the U.S. Women’s Open at Pinehurst, securing her place among the top female golfers in the world. Overall, she won five times on the LPGA and represented Team USA five times at the Solheim Cup.
Off of the golf course, Michelle has become a trailblazer in the business world and as a philanthropist, acting as an ambassador for Fortune 500 companies, sitting on boards of businesses, and launching charitable initiatives that support women in sports and promote diversity. She also plays the role of Tournament Host of the Mizuho Americas Open, one of the biggest events on the LPGA calendar, that incorporates the top juniors from the AJGA for a week of mentorship and education for the future stars of the game.
A graduate of Stanford University, Michelle Wie West balances her professional life with a rich personal life. She and her husband Jonnie currently reside in Las Vegas, NV, where they have two children, Makenna and Jagger, and three dogs.
