2x Super Bowl-Winning Quarterback
With two Super Bowl championships and 18 years of playing through grit and resilience, Ben Roethlisberger was the backbone of the Pittsburgh Steelers. His legacy lives on through his foundation, supporting police, fire, and K-9 units throughout Pittsburgh.
Bio
Ben Roethlisberger is a legendary former quarterback who spent his entire 18-season career with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL. Born in Lima, Ohio, he made his mark as a dynamic and resilient leader on the field. Roethlisberger’s journey to the NFL began at Miami University, where he showcased his impressive skills before being selected by the Steelers as the 11th overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft.
Roethlisberger has been one of the most efficient passers in NFL history. He is one of only six quarterbacks to have defeated at least 31 of the current NFL teams.
Roethlisberger earned the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award in 2004 and received his first Pro Bowl selection in 2007. In just his second professional season, he became the youngest quarterback in NFL history to win a Super Bowl, leading the Steelers to victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL at the age of 23. Roethlisberger guided the Steelers to a second Super Bowl title in four seasons, securing a win over the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII with a game-winning touchdown pass to Santonio Holmes. He made his third Super Bowl appearance in Super Bowl XLV.
Off the field, Roethlisberger demonstrates an unwavering commitment to Pittsburgh and his Ohio roots through his Ben Roethlisberger Foundation, which has provided support to police and fire departments across the U.S., with a special emphasis on funding K-9 units and enhancing the quality of life for residents in Findlay, OH, and Pittsburgh, PA. His dedication to both his team and his community has solidified his legacy not just as one of Pittsburgh’s greatest athletes, but as a deeply respected figure whose impact extends far beyond the field.
