Bio
Dansby Swanson is a Major League Baseball shortstop for the Chicago Cubs. A Vanderbilt University graduate, he was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2014 College World Series after helping lead the team to a national championship. Selected first overall in the 2015 MLB Draft, Swanson was traded to the Atlanta Braves later that year and made his MLB debut in 2016. Over seven seasons with the Braves, he became a reliable shortstop and played a key role in helping the team win the 2021 World Series. In 2022, he earned his first MLB All-Star selection. Swanson signed with the Chicago Cubs in December 2022 and remains known for his steady defense, leadership, and consistent performance at the plate.
Grounded in faith and a strong sense of purpose, Swanson channels his platform into causes that reflect his values. He co-founded All Things Loyal, a community-driven brand that celebrates Atlanta culture while supporting local non-profits and aspiring young athletes. His involvement with Cheatcode, a mental health foundation, and Good Sports Inc., which provides equipment to underserved youth, underscores his commitment to well-being, access, and opportunity. Swanson continues to invest in people and communities with the same thoughtfulness he brings to the game. He is married to U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team forward Mallory Swanson.
