Natasha Cloud
Professional Basketball Player, WNBA and Unrivaled
Natasha Cloud is a championship-winning WNBA guard and elite defender who pairs dynamic playmaking with a powerful voice for community, social justice, and equality.
Bio
Natasha Cloud is a playmaking guard for the Phoenix Mercury. Formerly, she was an integral part of the Washington Mystics 2019 WNBA Championship run. The two-time WNBA Defensive team honoree is widely considered one of the premier lockdown perimeter guards in the league. Since joining the league in 2015, she has ranked among the top ten in assists per game four times in seven seasons. In 2022, she proved her exceptional playmaking skills by leading the WNBA in both assists per game and total assists.
Cloud is originally from Springfield, PA and attended Cardinal O’Hara High School. Cloud went on to play college basketball at Saint Joseph’s University, where she was a standout player. She played for the Hawks from 2010-2014 and finished her college career as the program’s all-time leader in assists. She went on to be a three-time A-10 All-Defensive team honoree and the 2014 A-10 Defensive player of the Year. After college, Cloud was selected by the Mystics in the second round of the 2015 WNBA Draft.
Cloud is also known for her social activism and service to her community. In 2019, she was awarded the Dawn Staley Community Leadership Award for her involvement in youth programs in her area. She has also been a vocal advocate for racial justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and women’s equality. In 2020, Cloud made headlines when she decided to sit out the entire WNBA season to focus on social justice issues. She used her platform to raise awareness about police brutality and systemic racism, and even organized a march in Washington D.C. with other WNBA players and NBA standout, Bradley Beal.
