Adonai Mitchell is one of the NFL’s most promising young wide receivers, bringing speed, focus, and playmaking ability to the Indianapolis Colts. Adonai openly shares his journey with Type 1 diabetes, empowering young athletes to push past obstacles and believe in their potential.
Adonai Mitchell is a wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts, selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Known for his speed and playmaking ability, Mitchell has quickly become a key asset to the Colts’ high-octane offense.
Born and raised in Texas, Mitchell played his first two years of college football at the University of Georgia, helping them secure back-to-back national championships. He transferred to the University of Texas for his final year, where he made an immediate impact with the Longhorns, leading the team in touchdown receptions with 11.
After a successful junior season, he declared for the NFL Draft, where his talent was undeniable, despite initial doubts from some teams about his ability to perform due to his Type 1 diabetes. Undeterred, Mitchell’s resilience and drive led him to the Colts, with the team’s GM having his back during their draft press conference.
Off the field, Adonai is a passionate advocate for young athletes with diabetes, encouraging them not to put limitations on themselves and showing that they can still achieve their dreams if they continue to work hard.
He is also a dedicated father to his 4-year-old daughter, Icylinn, who motivates him to be the best version of himself.
