Bio
Josh Downs is heading into his fourth NFL season with the Indianapolis Colts, where he has established himself as a dynamic playmaker and key contributor to their offensive success. Praised for his route running, explosiveness, and football IQ, Downs has accumulated over 2,100 receiving yards with 11 touchdowns through his first three seasons. As a rookie in 2023, he made an immediate impact with a breakout performance against the Cleveland Browns, where he posted 125 receiving yards and a touchdown, announcing his arrival on the national stage.
Before the NFL, Downs starred at the University of North Carolina, where he put together one of the most decorated receiving careers in program history. A First-Team All-ACC selection and consensus All-American, he was the focal point of the Tar Heels’ offense and one of the most productive receivers in college football. Known for his elite separation skills and consistency, Downs finished his UNC career among the school’s all-time leaders in receptions and receiving yards, routinely delivering in high-leverage moments and against top competition.
Off the field, Downs is known for his professionalism, humility, and commitment to giving back through his family’s Trust Downs Foundation. A Georgia native, he comes from a close-knit, faith-driven family and has embraced his role as a leader and mentor at every stage of his career. As the older brother of fellow football standout Caleb Downs, Josh has helped set the standard for excellence both on and off the field, continuing to build a platform rooted in hard work, authenticity, and impact beyond the game.
