Allie LaForce brings energy and insight to some of sports’ biggest moments. From NBA sidelines to the heart of March Madness, she has built a reputation for engaging coverage and a natural ability to connect with players, coaches, and fans on and off the court.
Bio
Allie LaForce is an American sports journalist and reporter for Turner Sports, where she serves as a lead reporter for NBA on TNT’s regular season and playoff coverage. She also contributes to Turner Sports and CBS Sports’ joint coverage of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, and hosts various projects across the Turner portfolio, including CNN specials tied to NBA All-Star Weekend and the NCAA Tournament, along with select programming on NBA TV.
LaForce joined Turner Sports full-time in 2018 after several years contributing part-time to NBA on TNT beginning in 2015. She began working on March Madness coverage in 2013. Before Turner, she was with CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network, where she covered college basketball and football from 2012 to 2018 and was named lead college football reporter in 2014. Her career began at Ohio University’s WOUB-FM, with early on-air roles at SportsTime Ohio covering MAC football and basketball, as well as the OHSAA basketball championships.
LaForce graduated magna cum laude from Ohio University’s Honors Tutorial College, where she also played on the women’s basketball team for two years. She won an Emmy Award as anchor of Friday Night Touchdown on Cleveland’s FOX 8 and was crowned Miss Teen USA in 2005, traveling nationally as a spokesperson for various charities.
Allie and her husband, 16-year MLB veteran Joe Smith, co-founded the HelpCureHD Foundation, which supports families affected by Huntington’s Disease. They are proud parents to their son, Jacob.
